Joint Project by CRRC Azerbaijan and Khazar University: University Courses for Everyone

CRRC Azerbaijan, in cooperation with Khazar University, is offering semester-long trainings designed as university courses. The courses will be held weekly by western-educated professionals and will be free of charge for CRRC participants. The language of instruction is English and following courses will be offered for the spring 2014 semester:

Human Resource Management

This course is designed to provide an overview of human resource management topics and issues.  Throughout the semester, a wide range of topics will be examined in human resource management including labor force trends, job analysis, employment legislation, selection, performance appraisal, compensation, training and development, workplace diversity issues, employee relations.

Instructor:   Raziya Isayeva holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management. Since 2001, she has worked as a human resource manager in the private sector.  Currently, she is a Ph.D. student majoring in Management at Khazar University.

Applied Business Statistics

The topics covered include descriptive data analysis, probability and distributions, sampling, hypothesis testing and basic regression. The main objective is to introduce the basic concepts and tools of statistics and their applications.

Instructor: Kamil Alasgarov holds a MSc in Economics from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. He was involved in various projects related to Azerbaijani economy that covered a wide range of topics, including DRC analysis of agricultural and revenue management issues. 

Leadership, Power, and Politics 

The course will provide students with knowledge about an emerging management paradigm that focuses on leadership, harnessing people's creativity, and on team-work, collaboration and participation. Students will acquire a specific set of analytical skills enabling them to analyze the environment in which they operate. They will be able to view the environment through the eyes of different stakeholders, use methods to reveal qualities necessary for good leadership and learn techniques that enhane their personal abilities as good leaders. 
Note: This class will be held in the Neftchilar Campus of Khazar University.

Instructor: Dr. Mahammad Nuriyev started his professional experience in 1969. He is an author of one monograph, five textbooks and more than 50 research articles in Management (Development Analysis, Forecasting, Production Planning and Scheduling) and other business fields.

Before you apply, please note: 

 Participants can take either one or two of the above courses;
 Classes will start on February 10, 2014 and will last until late May;
 The classes will be organized on a weekly basis and will most likely run  from 18:30 until 21:00;
 CRRC participants are expected to attend all classes, complete home  and  class assignments (when applicable), and take quizzes, mid-term  and  final exams;
 Seats are limited, thus CRRC reserves the right to select participants and  dismiss those who do not comply with the obligations mentioned above;
 Participants who successfully complete the courses will receive  certificates;
 The trainings are free for CRRC participants.

Applicants should submit their CV and motivation letter, which will address the following questions: In which course(s) do you intend to enroll? Why do you want to take this (these) course(s)? How will this (these) course(s) help you in your future academic and career goals?

CV and motivation letter should be sent to by January 31, 2013. Please write "KU-CRRC training" in the subject of the email.
