CRRC Georgia and CRRC Armenia’s joint research project funded by ASCN

January 24, 2014 Printer friendly version Share on Facebook

CRRC Georgia, in partnership with CRRC Armenia, will begin a new research project entitled “Taking Partly Free Voters Seriously: Autocratic Response to Voter Preferences in Armenia and Georgia”. This two-year regional project is funded by Academic Swiss Caucasus Net (ASCN) and aims to compare interactions between actors and institutions in Armenia and Georgia. The research will focus on four election periods in Armenia and Georgia between 2007 and 2013, and will explore how a regime’s policy responses to its electorate’s preferences are mediated by the regime’s institutional environment.

The study will use a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods, including policy analysis, analysis of survey data, in-depth interviews and experimental research.  Research findings will be systematically presented at different conferences, as well as local and international workshops, and will result in several publications.
